The first chidren’s book of the Centre for Visual Arts and Research (CVAR) series, written by Theodora Kolipera, “Το Φέσι” (The Fes) was published in 2019. And now the second book, “Τα Νυφικά” (The Wedding Dresses) has been published and will also go round public schools all over Cyprus along with a museum kit this autumn.  

This series of illustrated story books is based on actual historical items and outfits from the museum’s collection and along with other items and puppets in the suitcase, helps the objects to come to life and tell their story in order to spark the kids’ imagination and their interest in culture and history.

It was my pleasure to sketch and recreate the fine details of the hats and wedding dresses and give each their own personality.
